What Is Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy?

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is the disease when your heart muscle becomes thicker or enlarged. The work “hypertrophy” means enlargement; this enlargement of heart wall impedes the heart to work properly.
It is rare disease, not found in more than 0.2 %of U.S population. It can be found in men and women of any age and deems to be inherited. Rarely, it occurs without any family history of such disease.
People with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy run the risk of sudden cardiac arrest and death without any symptom. It differs in heart attack since with heart attacks the arteries are blocked and blood stops flowing to heart. But in this case simply the heart stops beating without any symptom.
